Ayatollah Khamenei rejected the US logic in defining terrorism as wrong and unacceptable, and reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not consider the US as honest and sincere to lead the world campaign against terrorism. He stressed clearly that Iran will not take part in any campaign led by the US for what it calls fighting terrorism.

Ayatollah Khamenei considered the behaviour of US officials in the aftermath of the incidents in New York and Washington, as "extremely haughty, arrogant and inherently imperialistic" and by pointing to the blow inflicted on American prestige by the recent incidents, said the humiliation suffered by the US administration cannot justify the arrogant remarks of its officials and neither will such haughty statements make independent nations and governments lose their morale.

The leader rejected Washington's diction that whoever is not with the US government will be considered siding with the terrorists, and said this is a wrong idea in view of the fact that there are certain governments with the US which are more dangerous than all terrorists.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that those who now lead usurper Zionist regime, have been involved in the most tragic and savage terrorist events, and are still continuing their nefarious activities. He questioned as disputable the US classification of countries supporting and opposing terrorism, and reiterated: "We are not with you and neither are we with the terrorists."

He noted that according to the misconstrued logic of the US, the masscre of Palestinians in 1982 in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps and the state approval for assassination of Palestinian Muslims are not considered acts of terrorism, while, he pointed, the legitiamte defence of their homeland by people of Palestine is being called terrorism.

Ayatollah Khamenei, referring to the remarks of US officials in classifying terrorism as good and evil, said, Washington has come up with this crude classification, because, when the US warship Vincennes shot down the Iranian passenger plane over the Persian Gulf and killed hundreds of innocent people, the American administration, instead of punishing the perpetrators and offering apology for its crime, decorated the commander of Vincennes with medals.

The leader said the propaganda being carried out worldwide on the recent events in the US is biased and based on power interests. He censured the US propaganda tirade against Muslims as extremely evil with long term effects. He added, how come, in the early hours of the incident you started accusing Muslims, and when you claim that your intelligence apparatus is so strong, why did it fail in discovering the vast operation in Washington and New York which might have required many months and even years of planning.

The leader pointed to the US president's use of the term Crusades for the recent events, and said if this remark was not intentional and purposeful, then the question rises, why does a senior official of a country be so unbridled in his choice of words?

The leader addressing himself to the American government, said you indulge in adverse propaganda against Islam and then announce a list of Arabic and Islamic names as those of the accused, without releasing the name of even one American or westerner, and then you say, do not attack Muslims?

He termed the US demand on world countries for cooperation in its campaign as a form of bullying, and said it is this very rowdism which has aroused hatred everywhere against the US to the extent that every day we witness the burning of the US flag in different parts of the world. The recent anti-racism conference in South Africa was an evident example of anti-American feelings among world nations and governments.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed to the proper stance of the Iranain officials and ruled out any support by the Islamic Republic to the US and its allies for attacking Afghanistan. He took note of the various US conspiracies against the Islamic Republic of Iran over the past 23 years, and addressing Washington, said: you, who have always inflicted blows on Iran's interests, how dare do you ask for help in attacking the Muslim and oppressed country of Afghanistan which is our neighbour.

The leader said the behind scene issues concerning talk of US attack on Afghanistan was different from the propaganda campaign, adding that the US government, on the pretext of the presence in Afghanistan of some of the accused whose involvement has not been proven, is seeking to spread its influence in the region in order to have a foothold in Central Asia, the sub-continent and near the eastern borders of Iran, as it did during the Persian Gulf war against Iraq in 1991.

He noted that the US settlement of account with those supporting the oppressed people of Palestine is among the other US objectives for a mitliary expedition to the reigon.

Ayatollah Khamenei considered the serious campaign against terrorism as an obligatory Jihad and stressed the need for a pious leader to head this campaign. He reiterated the US is not qualified at all to lead a world campaign against terrorism, and the Islamic Republic of Iran will not take part in any move led by the US .

The leader said any campaign against terrorism should be under the auspices of the United Nations, and the Islamic governments and the organization of the Islamic conference have a heavy duty for fighting terrorism and they should act independently.

He also referred to the OIC duty towards the muslim and oppressed people of Afghanistan, considering the suffering of this people to be the result of powers intervention in their fate and adding , the free born and brave people of Afghanistan who have a rich culture and a high talent have no difference with the people of other parts of the world and they should not be victimized by the powers objectives and policies.

Ayatollah Khamaneie considered the issue of martyrdom and martyr as one of the most prominent issues of Islam and by pointing to the self sacrfice of combatants of Islam especially the martyrs in preserving the independence and territorial integrity of the country during the Iraqi imposed war.

He added the combatants of the sacred defence especially martyrs have the right of life upon the Iranain nation and those who speak against the armed and mobilization forces actually act against the interests of the nation and country.

The leader pointed to the enemy's cultural offensive for weakening the faith of the Iranian nation, adding that the enemy's attempt for discrediting the resistance of the Iranin nation during the 8-year sacred defence should be confronted and matryrs families should always feel honour and pride.

The leader also considered the auspicous month of Rajab as a good opportunity for communicating with God, stressing that Rajab and Sha'ban are appropriate opportunity for Muslims especially youth to enter with full readiness the divine banquet and the holy month of Ramadhan.
